The present invention relates to the generation and use of a cellular array or a cellular array in combination with other genome-registered arrays (an array of arrays) for the determination of gene function and/or perturbation mode of action. Each cellular array consists of a number of microbial strains. Each strain comprises one reporter gene fusion made up of a gene or gene fragment operably linked to a reporter gene. Each gene or gene fragment has been "registered" or mapped to a specific location in the genome of the organism. The genome-registered collection of the invention may be used to determine alterations in gene expression under a variety of conditions. Such collections are amenable to rapid assay and may be used to confirm, correct or augment data generated from DNA micro array technology.

The present invention provides systems and methods for transforming cell phones at end of life into new electronic devices, such as clocks, calculators, PDAs, remote controls, etc. Importantly, the systems and methods of the present invention salvage many of the features and electronics of the cell phone that are not associated with the placement and reception of telephone calls. The electronics of the cell phone are repackaged and/or configured to hide the telecommunications options associated with the phone, leaving intact or upgrading other features of the phone, such as clock, calculator, storage device, etc. In doing so, all or most of the components of the cell phone are successfully recycled over more conventional methods that scavenge the phones for precious metals and reusable components.

This invention provides a method for treating waste water containing organic bases such as tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide and dissolved metals such as Mo, W, Cu and Ni which are generated from mask cleaning and Mo etching processes. The organic base along with Cu and Ni is first removed preferably by passing the effluent through a cation exchange resin followed by passing the cation exchanged effluent through an anion exchange resin to remove the Mo and W metals. The treated waste water meets federal guidelines for dissolved metal contaminant limits for water discharge to water ways. Alternatively, filtered effluent is directly passed through an anion exchange resin to remove Mo and W and the dissolved TMAH and copper and nickel are removed by cation exchange.

This device is provided with the cartridge, a new cartridge detecting means, a means for counting the number of using times of the cartridge, a means for counting the number of recycling times of the cartridge, and a high voltage power source. In a such case, it is equipped with a means judging whether the cartridge exceeds the working limit and masking a trigger signal to the high voltage power source in the case the cartridge exceeds the working limit. This device prevents an user from getting into a dangerous situation caused by fault and breakage due to use exceeding the working limit of a cartridge. As such, this device encourages the user to recycle cartridges and reduce natural resource consumption. This invention relates to an image forming device which has a removable cartridge attached to a main part, such as a copying machine, a printer and or a facsimile. According to the patent, in the past, process cartridges were disposed of after use. However, this invention demonstrates that process cartridges can be made into new refreshable parts in a variety ways.

This invention provides a method for removing flux residue and similar other residues formed on the surfaces of micro electronic components during soldering operations using solder paste and fluxing agents in electronic module assembly component fabrication by a semi-aqueous solvent cleaning process using propylene glycol alkyl ether solvents, preferably the mono alkyl ethers, as replacements for xylene. The electronic components may contain plastic components, for example, a plastic grid array (PBGA) in addition to silicon device chip(s), C4 decaps and SMTs on a ceramic chip carrier with solder columns. Preferred solvents are dipropylene glycol mono methyl ether and tripropylene glycol mono methyl ether, which are both water soluble.
